AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around a request for sample exams for a calculus-based physics course focusing on waves, optics, and thermodynamics. The user is specifically seeking practice materials for an upcoming optics exam, expressing dissatisfaction with available online resources. Responses emphasize the importance of independent study and understanding the material rather than relying on shared exams. Suggestions include reaching out to instructors or classmates for assistance and utilizing online resources for practice problems. Hi, I currently taking Physics: Waves, Optics, Thermodynamics, (calculus-based).

There are many books that provide sample exams such as the one call Instructor's Exam File. However, I don't have the one for physics III. Can you help me by posting a sample of your instructor's exam (with solutions) so that I can practice? It will help me allot on the test...

]The one's available on the internet are not what I'm looking for...
My upcoming exam is on optics (lens, thin lens, etc and diffraction/interfernce).

Hi there, I'm sorry but I cannot provide you with my practice homework exam. It is important that you do your own practice and understand the material on your own. However, I would suggest reaching out to your instructor or classmates for study materials or previous exams. Additionally, there are many resources available online such as practice problems and tutorials that can help you prepare for your exam. It is important to put in the effort and time to study and understand the material rather than relying on someone else's practice exam. Good luck on your exam!

I multiplied the values first without the error limit. Got 19.38. rounded it off to 2 significant figures since the given data has 2 significant figures. So = 19. For error I used the above formula. It comes out about 1.48. Now my question is. Should I write the answer as 19±1.5 (rounding 1.48 to 2 significant figures) OR should I write it as 19±1. So in short, should the error have same number of significant figures as the mean value or should it have the same number of decimal places as...
Thread 'A cylinder connected to a hanging mass'
Let's declare that for the cylinder, mass = M = 10 kg Radius = R = 4 m For the wall and the floor, Friction coeff = ##\mu## = 0.5 For the hanging mass, mass = m = 11 kg First, we divide the force according to their respective plane (x and y thing, correct me if I'm wrong) and according to which, cylinder or the hanging mass, they're working on. Force on the hanging mass $$mg - T = ma$$ Force(Cylinder) on y $$N_f + f_w - Mg = 0$$ Force(Cylinder) on x $$T + f_f - N_w = Ma$$ There's also...
