This isn't fair, I don't get any of that. I just love the caring:tongue:

May I suggest a girlfriend?

You can get all the relaxation of an ASMR video, and then some

Although, sometimes the "relaxation" bit turns into frustration, but hey, give it shot.

Girlfriend? What's that? Didn't you see my lonely thread?

You should check out RelaxingASMR's channel. He's my favorite; I learn something new almost every new video.

Here's one of his latest videos:

I need to take a break from ASMR videos because I'm not getting brain tingles anymore. This happens every so often and I have to stop watching them for a couple weeks. It's been really difficult to fall asleep. :frown:

I don't even get the tingles an I love them. Man, that would be a bonus.

Aren't you a little old to be wasting time with these? You claim to have refereed peer-reviewed articles, so you must at least have gone to grad school putting you in your mid-20's at the least.

If you claim you're lonely, why do you waste time all day watching videos? Or maybe this is just some joke which I don't get (and probably don't want to).

I've never claimed to have refereed peer-reviewed articles, nor have I claimed to be lonely.

I watch these videos at night while I'm trying to fall asleep, thus am not too concerned about being productive.

They weren't talking about you, Dembadon.

So, since I'm probably not the only one wondering (I hope), wtf is ASMR?

Basically a new type of porn. Oh, I realize puritians reading this might complain of that characterization, but that is my appraisal of the matter. But what though I wonder is the psyco-analytic basis for ASMR's effect on people. What I wonder is what would Freud have thought? You know, Sigmund Freud, "Passions of the Mind" and all? Some like him, some don't. Smoked too many cigars but I digress. In particular I wonder what is the Freudian sexual component of this affair as it relates to females and their role as sex objects in Nature and society. But also just as importantly, is what Freud called the "talking thearpy". Why that works? The talking I mean, and apparently from what I've seen in the ASMR videos, how you talk matters. "Yeah, uh-hu". Those were really a buzz or what, "triggers" for me in the video I referenced above.

I suspect I already know maybe. He'd think, "some things have changed but some components of human behavior, sexuality, a desire to connect, and that marvelous gift of "talking", haven't.

Alright, then I'm just confused as to why they quoted my post.

Yeah, my first thought was "wtf, this is like a really weird porn". But some of them are less sexual than others.

I've skimmed a lot of them, and I still have no clue what they actually are . However, I used one video to try and relax to sleep (it takes me a long time to be able to relax when going to bed), and it seems to have helped somewhat.

I'm not a fan of the whispering ones.
