AI Thread Summary
Using pirated software, such as Visual C++ 6.0, to develop an original program raises legal concerns, especially if the software is intended for sale. While the term "piracy" traditionally refers to the unauthorized reproduction of copyrighted material, utilizing unlicensed software can lead to lawsuits. It is crucial for developers to ensure they have legitimate licenses for any software used in their projects, particularly when selling their products. The discussion highlights the importance of compliance with software licensing to avoid legal repercussions.

Let say you use a pirate Visual C++ 6.0 to write an original program,
is that program considered as pirated ?

Well, let me just say that if you are going to be selling your software then it would be very wise to make sure everything is legit because you can in fact be taken to court.

[edit]
Of course, you can be sued for nearly anything. Piracy is probably the wrong term to apply to this software. Piracy is a term that, not mentioning the high seas aspect, is defined as;

The illicit reprinting or reproduction of a copyrighted book or print or to unlawful plagiarism from it.

I'm unsure, but think it has additional functionality not provided in the other versions.

Asus Vivobook S14 flip. The power button is wrecked. Unable to turn it on AT ALL. We can get into how and why it got wrecked later, but suffice to say a kitchen knife was involved: These buttons do want to NOT come off, not like other lappies, where they can snap in and out. And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
