Induction Heating for Outgassing the Beamline

Click For Summary
Induction heating for outgassing the FEL beamline requires careful consideration of frequency, ideally in the MHz range, to achieve resonance based on the beamline's cylindrical geometry. The resonance frequency is approximated by the formula T ≈ radius/c and its multiples. However, there is uncertainty regarding the compatibility of typical induction heaters with these frequencies. Experience with heating beamlines is limited, and caution is advised in relying solely on theoretical calculations. Practical testing is recommended to ensure effective outgassing.

Hi,
I want to heat the FEL beamline for the outgassing process with an induction heater. What frequency should I use in the driver circuit of the heater?
The geometry of the beam line as you can imagine is cylindrical.
And do you have any experience about it? If its so, I will be appreciated if you could give me some advice about this point.

Can you test it? :D
Resonance should appear at the order of ##T\approx \frac{radius}{c}## and multiples of that value. But that needs a frequency in the MHz-range, I don't know if your induction heater works with that.
Don't rely on that, I did not heat any beamlines before.

Thread 'I thought it was only Amazon that sold unsafe junk'
I grabbed an under cabinet LED light today at a big box store. Nothing special. 18 inches in length and made to plug several lights together. Here is a pic of the power cord: The drawing on the box led me to believe that it would accept a standard IEC cord which surprised me. But it's a variation of it. I didn't try it, but I would assume you could plug a standard IEC cord into this and have a double male cord AKA suicide cord. And to boot, it's likely going to reverse the hot and...
