Intensity and Sound Level question.

KonstH
Hello, I only have 1 question left to finish my physics homework, and it has to do with sound and intensity. I am having some trouble figuring out how to solve it. Here is the question: At a distance of 17 km, a 177 Hz horn, assumed to be an isotropic point source, is barely audible. At what distance would it begin to cause pain?.

Your help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Hi KonstH

Sorry I did not reply to you in chat. I was away at the time.

This area of PF is for introductions only. Your question would be best placed in the homework section: this requires using the homework template provided, and also your attempt at solving the problem yourself.

Welcome to PF, by the way. :)
