AI Thread Summary
To create a model of a human hand with a vein that simulates real vein pressure (10 to 30 mmHg) for an IV infusion pump design, a closed-loop system using a fluid pump is proposed. The key considerations include selecting an appropriate pump type and using elastic tubing that allows for needle insertion. Suggestions for pump types and tubing materials that can maintain the desired pressure while being flexible enough for needle access are sought. Further exploration of alternative methods to achieve the pressure and functionality is encouraged.

Hello,

I need to make a simple model of human hand with a vein that has the same pressure of a real vein 10 to 30 mmHg ,basically I want to use it with my iv infusion pump design ,please could you tell me what is the best way to do that?

What has your reading and research found so far?

I can think of several things that I would want to include in such a model. What things are you thinking of including so far?

i am thinking of creating a pressure by circulating a fluid in a closed loop tubing using a fluid pump ,but I am not sure what type of pump should I use ,also I want a tubing that is elastic enough so that a needle can be inserted to it ! ,is there any better idea ?

I've been reading a bunch of articles in this month's Scientific American on Alzheimer's and ran across this article in a web feed that I subscribe to. The SA articles that I've read so far have touched on issues with the blood-brain barrier but this appears to be a novel approach to the problem - fix the exit ramp and the brain clears out the plaques. https://www.sciencealert.com/new-alzheimers-treatment-clears-plaques-from-brains-of-mice-within-hours The original paper: Rapid amyloid-β...
