i need help for my assignment.

On a steel wall, the micro switch is used to activate and deactivate the electromagnet. Electromagnet will be energized just before it touches the steel wall and de-energized jus before losing contact with the wall in both directions. Write truth table and design the logic circuit to control the electromagnet.

a logic cct is not required.
you are simply using a switch to make and break a magnet (on one wall?).

I have recently moved into a new (rather ancient) house and had a few trips of my Residual Current breaker. I dug out my old Socket tester which tell me the three pins are correct. What I don't understand is, if the neutral is a current carrying conductor, which is then bonded to the ground conductor, why does current only flow back to its source and not on the ground path...
