AI Thread Summary
For preparing for the GRE Subject Test in Mathematics, it's recommended to search for sample tests online, as resources similar to those available for the GRE Physics test can be found. Practicing with these sample tests is crucial. Focus on identifying and improving areas of weakness, such as specific mathematical concepts or problem types that are challenging. For instance, if integration poses difficulties, dedicate time to mastering various integral techniques to ensure proficiency within the exam's time constraints, which allow approximately 1.5 minutes per question.

There are sample tests for physics (I did GRE physics). So I guess you may find some for mathematics, just use our friend google :D. Just try to find test samples, and then after practicing a little, try to learn the issues in the exam that you're not so good at, for example, if you fail to solve an integral (on time or math basis), learn more about integration until you're capable of handling every possible integral that may face you in the exam in the time window you're give (1.5 minute for every question).

Good luck :)

TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
Yesterday, 9/5/2025, when I was surfing, I found an article The Schwarzschild solution contains three problems, which can be easily solved - Journal of King Saud University - Science ABUNDANCE ESTIMATION IN AN ARID ENVIRONMENT https://jksus.org/the-schwarzschild-solution-contains-three-problems-which-can-be-easily-solved/ that has the derivation of a line element as a corrected version of the Schwarzschild solution to Einstein’s field equation.
