Mechanical shaker for vibration testing

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on developing mass-damper-spring equations for a one-degree-of-freedom (1-DOF) mechanical shaker to create a plant model equation for use in a Kalman filter algorithm with an accelerometer measurement model. Participants inquire about whether a self-fabricated or commercially made shaker is being used and discuss the types of components that can be vibrated on a shaker table assembly. The conversation highlights the need for technical assistance in modeling and the practical applications of vibration testing. Overall, the thread seeks collaborative input on mechanical shaker design and functionality.

Hi all.
Iam trying to find out an mass-damper-spring equations for a 1-DOF mechanical shaker for the purpose of plant model equation.Further, this equation is used in kalman filter algorithm with measurement model of an accelerometer. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance...!

Are you using self-fabricated shaker or company made one? what all components can we vibrate in a shaker table assembly?

Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
Thread 'How can I find the cleanout for my building drain?'
I am a long distance truck driver, but I recently completed a plumbing program with Stratford Career Institute. In the chapter of my textbook Repairing DWV Systems, the author says that if there is a clog in the building drain, one can clear out the clog by using a snake augur or maybe some other type of tool into the cleanout for the building drain. The author said that the cleanout for the building drain is usually near the stack. I live in a duplex townhouse. Just out of curiosity, I...
