What do you think about medical technology. I am a freshman in college and I was considering majoring in it. I just got done talking to my advisor and she didnt seem to know much, other than it is all lab work. Which is something I would like. Although I just want to be sure I can actually find a job!

From what I hear, the health care field, in the states anyway, is going to just keep growing and growing for the foreseeable future. The baby boomers are on the verge of retirement and hospitals will soon be busting at the seams. The only thing I would be concerned with, would be a national health care system going into effect and having a negative impact on wages. I doubt you would have much trouble finding a job.

I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
