Schools Options for International Students: Top Physics Schools Outside of the US

AI Thread Summary
There are numerous prestigious physics schools outside the US for students considering master's or PhD programs. Notable institutions include the ETH Zurich in Switzerland and the University of Toronto in Canada. In Europe, renowned universities such as the University of Cambridge, University of Bath, University of Bristol, and University of Warwick in the UK are highlighted for their strong physics programs. The choice of school may depend on specific areas of interest within physics, as different institutions may excel in various specializations. Additionally, Cambridge offers a unique one-year Tripos Part III course, which is considered both interesting and challenging.

Many! Too many to list them all.

To be more specific, it would help to know the areas of physics you are interested in.

There's tons of great ones in the UK. Cambridge, Bath, Bristol, Warwick. As said, it really depends on you but I thought I would put out a few.

P.s. At Cambridge you can do the Tripos Part III which is a one year course and, although I haven't done it, I hear is very interesting and challenging.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
