Physical device with both inductance and resistance

AI Thread Summary
A physical device that exhibits both inductance and resistance is an induction coil, commonly used in car spark plugs. For a device that includes capacitance, resistance, and inductance, a radio tuner is indeed a valid example. High-pass and low-pass filters can also serve as examples of devices with these electrical properties. These discussions highlight the relationship between these components in practical applications. Understanding these concepts is essential for electronics and circuit design.

Hello everyone. I was just wondering is anyone knew an example of a physical device with a)both inductance and resistance b)capacitance, resistance, and inductance. I looked these up on wikipedia and I got that an example for b) would be a radio tuner, is that right? Plus, I can't get a)...Any help?

Try searching for high-pass and low-pass filters

The induction coil that provides high voltage for the spark plugs in a car has both inductance and resistance.

Thread 'Collision of a bullet on a rod-string system: query'
In this question, I have a question. I am NOT trying to solve it, but it is just a conceptual question. Consider the point on the rod, which connects the string and the rod. My question: just before and after the collision, is ANGULAR momentum CONSERVED about this point? Lets call the point which connects the string and rod as P. Why am I asking this? : it is clear from the scenario that the point of concern, which connects the string and the rod, moves in a circular path due to the string...
