SUMMARY

The forum discussion centers on the feasibility of long-range wireless electricity transmission, specifically referencing Tesla's theories and lightning as examples. Participants clarify that while lightning demonstrates electrical transmission, it lacks practicality for consistent use. The consensus indicates that current technologies do not support effective long-range wireless electricity transmission, making it an impractical concept for real-world applications.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of Tesla's theories on wireless energy transmission
  • Familiarity with electrical transmission lines and their limitations
  • Knowledge of current technologies in wireless energy transfer
  • Basic principles of electricity and electromagnetism
NEXT STEPS
  • Research Tesla's wireless energy transmission experiments
  • Explore advancements in wireless power transfer technologies
  • Investigate the limitations of electrical transmission lines
  • Examine case studies on practical applications of long-range electricity transmission
USEFUL FOR

Students studying physics, electrical engineers, and researchers interested in the potential and limitations of wireless electricity transmission technologies.

Welcome to the PF.

What is meant by "long ranged electricity transmission"? I would think they mean electrical transmission lines and such, not lightning. Lightning is not a very useful form of electrical transmission...

oops... i meant "long ranged wireless electricity transmission"

Ah. Not a very practical concept. Is the whole class writing this essay, or did you pick it yourself?

You can google what you have in your quoted phrase above, and get some ideas. But again, none are practical, AFAIK.
