PI controller (feed back control) for boost converter

AI Thread Summary
A PI controller is being developed for a boost converter with an input voltage of 150V and a required output of 300V at a switching frequency of 25KHz. The user seeks confirmation on the schematic connections in PSPICE, specifically regarding the feedback path and the configuration of the VCONTROL. There is a discussion about ensuring the negative of VCONTROL connects to the output of the VCAP to establish a closed-loop system. The user is also inquiring about rules of thumb for adjusting the proportional (KP) and integral (KI) gains, as well as the appropriate settings for VCONTROL and VPULSE. Proper adjustment of these parameters is crucial for achieving the desired performance of the boost converter.

Hello Everyone,

I am trying to put together a PI controller for a boost converter.

Vin = 150V
Vout = 300V (Require this much boost)

Switching Frequency = 25KHz

I am attaching a schematic in PSPICE. Please , someone, tell me if the connections are right. Also V-PULSE / SAWTOOTH = (0 - 10V) . Original Design for : Duty Cycle 50 % . How do I adjust the KI and the KP ? Any rule of thumb for this.

TR = 39.9us
TF = 0.01us
PW = 20u
PER = 40u
All other parameters in V-PULSE SET TO ZERO.

Sorry, I'm not seeing the feedback path. Is this running open loop under the influence of VCONTROL?

No, it is a closed loop system. I think the negative of the VCONTROL should go to the output of the VCAP. That should provide a feedback path. Assuming that is done. How do I adjust the gains ?

Also, how do I adjust the voltage on the Integral gain constant ? How much should VCONTROL be ? should it be set to 300V, and the settings on VPULSE , Are those OK ?

Hi all I have some confusion about piezoelectrical sensors combination. If i have three acoustic piezoelectrical sensors (with same receive sensitivity in dB ref V/1uPa) placed at specific distance, these sensors receive acoustic signal from a sound source placed at far field distance (Plane Wave) and from broadside. I receive output of these sensors through individual preamplifiers, add them through hardware like summer circuit adder or in software after digitization and in this way got an...
While I was rolling out a shielded cable, a though came to my mind - what happens to the current flow in the cable if there came a short between the wire and the shield in both ends of the cable? For simplicity, lets assume a 1-wire copper wire wrapped in an aluminum shield. The wire and the shield has the same cross section area. There are insulating material between them, and in both ends there is a short between them. My first thought, the total resistance of the cable would be reduced...
I am not an electrical engineering student, but a lowly apprentice electrician. I learn both on the job and also take classes for my apprenticeship. I recently wired my first transformer and I understand that the neutral and ground are bonded together in the transformer or in the service. What I don't understand is, if the neutral is a current carrying conductor, which is then bonded to the ground conductor, why does current only flow back to its source and not on the ground path...
