Properties of foam plastic in Mattress and in general

Click For Summary
SUMMARY

The discussion focuses on the properties of foam plastic, particularly in the context of mattresses. Users inquire about the differences between hot and cold foam, specifically regarding heat retention and insulation capabilities. It is established that foam can indeed insulate and may retain heat, affecting comfort levels during sleep. Recommendations for mattress types based on testing and user experience are also sought, emphasizing the need for understanding foam properties in mattress selection.

PREREQUISITES
  • Understanding of foam types, specifically memory foam and polyurethane foam.
  • Knowledge of thermal insulation properties and heat conduction.
  • Familiarity with mattress construction and materials.
  • Awareness of mattress testing standards and consumer reviews.
NEXT STEPS
  • Research the thermal properties of polyurethane foam and its applications in mattresses.
  • Explore the differences between memory foam and traditional foam in terms of heat retention.
  • Investigate mattress testing methodologies and consumer ratings for foam mattresses.
  • Learn about the impact of mattress covers on heat insulation and comfort.
USEFUL FOR

Individuals seeking to purchase a mattress, sleep specialists, and anyone interested in the thermal properties of foam materials in bedding applications.

Hello,

I wanted to know which properties a foam plastic have in general and how it works in a Mattress.

I have a Foam mattress is there any difference between hot and cold foam?

My Mattress is a Foam mattress not a Spring mattress and it feels too hot after a while you lie on it.

Is it because of the Foam it gets heated and doesn't give away the heat?

So can it be that the Foam insulate too much? or do a Foam not insulate and its only the cover of the mattress?

Thats why i wanted to know the properties of a Foam and of the Foam which is filled in a Mattress or in General.

Does Foam insulate and how it is build or works.

Can you also give me a advice which mattress should i buy which are the best in tests and experience ?

Thanks!

hi,

this is all about memory foam I am talkin about normal foam made of the same material as like plastic ...i wanted to know about the insulation of foam and heat conduction properties for example.

anyway thanks for your answer.
