Testing SAT scores and HS GPA when transferring

AI Thread Summary
When applying as a transfer student to a university, high school GPA and SAT scores are typically considered only if the applicant has fewer than 24 college credits. For those with more than 24 credits, previous high school performance is generally not a factor in admissions decisions. Colleges often prioritize college coursework and performance over high school metrics for transfer applicants. Additionally, many institutions are willing to overlook past academic struggles if the applicant demonstrates improvement in their college studies. Overall, the focus shifts significantly from high school achievements to college performance as transfer credits increase.

Hi,
I was wondering if I apply for a college as a transferring applicant will my SAT and HS GPA weigh much? Do colleges forgive previous bad performance?
Thanks in advance.

Not from CC, a university in fact. Do you mean they won't even require the SAT 1 neither the SAT 2 score?

They do consider your high school GPA and SAT scores if you have less than 24 credits usually. If you have more, they couldn't care less regardless of where you transfer from, as long as it's an accredited college or university.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
TL;DR Summary: I want to do a PhD in applied math but I hate group theory, is this a big problem? Hello, I am a second-year math and physics double major with a minor in data science. I just finished group theory (today actually), and it was my least favorite class in all of university so far. It doesn't interest me, and I am also very bad at it compared to other math courses I have done. The other courses I have done are calculus I-III, ODEs, Linear Algebra, and Prob/Stats. Is it a...
