AI Thread Summary
Graduating with a BA in Industrial Engineering from a university in Peru, the individual expresses a desire to pivot to fields like mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or genetics, feeling that Industrial Engineering is not the right fit. They are considering further education after graduation and are uncertain whether they can directly enter a master's or PhD program in their desired fields or if they will need to pursue a second undergraduate degree. Their strong academic performance, being in the top 5% of their class, may enhance their chances of admission to graduate programs, but acceptance will ultimately depend on how well they can demonstrate the relevance of their current studies to the new field. Studying in a first-world country is also a goal.

Hi, in 1 year i will graduate with a BA in Industrial engineering from a university in Peru. Unfortunately i have realized that I.E is not really for me.
If i could go back in time, i would of studied either mechanical or electrical or chemical engineering or something to do with genetics.

So after i graduate i want to study something related to any of those fields mentioned above.

i don't know if i could work myself into a master or a phd program, or if i would have to do a second undergraduate.

i would like to study in a first world country.
I will be 22 years when i graduate
i have really excellent grades (i would say i am at least in the top 5% of my colleague)

thanks!

Whether or not you can get into an ME/EE/CE graduate program will depend on the institutions you apply to and your ability to convince them that your undergraduate course of study applies to any of those fields to the necessary level.

Otherwise you'll probably need to go back through undergraduate in any of those fields.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
