Semiconductor Optical Amplifier Static and Dynamic Design

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on the challenges of designing static and dynamic models for Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers using Optisystem software. The original poster expresses confusion about the design process and seeks assistance. Participants suggest considering SPICE for modeling but question its effectiveness for optical aspects. The need to specifically use Optisystem for the project is emphasized, raising concerns about the feasibility of integrating SPICE for this purpose. Overall, the conversation highlights the complexities of optical amplifier design and the tools required for effective modeling.

Hie. I would like to know anyone who knows or have idea on design static and dynamic model for Semiconductor Optical Amplifier? Currently my lecturer ask me to design using Optisystem software which I quit blur on designing this models. Anyone who knows and help me please.

Thanks in advanced..

Can you just use SPICE? Or is the optical aspect difficult to model in SPICE? What do you mean by "quit blur"?

It is because i need to use that optisystem software to modelling it. However, is it possible to use Spice to design SEMICONDUCTOR OPTICAL AMPLIFIER for dynamic and static design??

I have Mass A being pulled vertically. I have Mass B on an incline that is pulling Mass A. There is a 2:1 pulley between them. The math I'm using is: FA = MA / 2 = ? t-force MB * SIN(of the incline degree) = ? If MB is greater then FA, it pulls FA up as MB moves down the incline. BUT... If I reverse the 2:1 pulley. Then the math changes to... FA = MA * 2 = ? t-force MB * SIN(of the incline degree) = ? If FA is greater then MB, it pulls MB up the incline as FA moves down. It's confusing...
Hi. I noticed that all electronic devices in my household that also tell time eventually lag behind, except the ones that get synchronized by radio signal or internet. Most of them are battery-powered, except my alarm clock (which runs slow as well). Why does none of them run too fast? Deliberate design (why)? Wrong temperature for quartz crystal? Decreasing battery voltage? Or just a coincidence?
