Engineering Square of resistors within a circuit. What is the equivalent

AI Thread Summary
The discussion focuses on simplifying a circuit with a square configuration of resistors to find the equivalent resistance. Participants emphasize the importance of maintaining connections to previous nodes while rearranging components. A specific challenge arises with the upper left loop of three resistors, where confusion about an intersecting node is noted. References to Y-Δ transformations are provided as potential solutions to the problem. The conversation highlights the complexity of circuit analysis and the need for clear understanding of node connections.

Homework Equations

-We can re-arrange circuit components into simpler orientations as long as the components' connections to previous nodes are maintained.

The Attempt at a Solution

-I attempted to re-arrange the loop of three resistors at the upper left region to no avail. Where did that intersecting node in the solution come from? There is no such node in the original question, where all three resistors are connected.
