B What are some limitations to Young's Double Slit Experiment?

AI Thread Summary
The discussion highlights the setup of Young's Double Slit Experiment using a laser pointer and acetate slits, focusing on measuring the maxima on a whiteboard. Participants are encouraged to consider procedural improvements for the experiment. Suggestions for enhancements include refining the slit design and improving measurement accuracy. Additionally, there is a reminder to post homework questions in designated forums and to include relevant equations and attempts at solutions for better assistance. Overall, the conversation emphasizes the importance of precision in experimental setups.

From a procedure standpoint, our experiment consisted of a laser pointer on a retort stand with a holder, shining through a piece of sheet with slit measurements (I believe it's acetate) and measuring the height of the maxima on a whiteboard. What could be improved with this experiment?

Please post your homework questions in the Homework Help forums, and fill out the HH Template that you are provided there when starting a new thread. That includes the Relevant Equations and your Attempt at the Solution. You MUST show your work on schoolwork questions here before we can provide tutorial help.

So I know that electrons are fundamental, there's no 'material' that makes them up, it's like talking about a colour itself rather than a car or a flower. Now protons and neutrons and quarks and whatever other stuff is there fundamentally, I want someone to kind of teach me these, I have a lot of questions that books might not give the answer in the way I understand. Thanks
