What Are the Best Online Resources to Study for a Chemistry Test?

AI Thread Summary
For studying for a Chemistry test covering the periodic table, element identification, mixtures, scientific notation, SI units, and conversions, several online resources were discussed. Regentsprep.org was mentioned, though it does not cover all necessary topics. Another suggested site is chemistry-quizzes.info, which may be useful for future quizzes but lacks relevant questions for the current study needs. The conversation highlighted the importance of tailoring study methods to individual learning styles. Overall, utilizing a variety of online resources is recommended for effective Chemistry test preparation.

Tomorrow I have a Chemistry test. What are some online resources I can use to study? The test will include questions on: the elementary table and the symbols of elements and identifying if an element is a metal or nonmetal, identifying different things as an element compound or mixture, scientific notation, SI units, and conversions. Thank you.

Why don't you just Google each of those topics, especially given that they are quite broad? Asking how to study is kind of pointless. How do we know what your learning style is?

I was just wondering if anyone knew of any great online resources to use to study topics in Chemistry. The only one that I know of is regentsprep.org but it doesn't cover all of the topics I need.

In future - if/when you will be looking for a quizzes to train your question solving skills - you may try www.chemistry-quizzes.info. But I am afraid at this stage there are no questions there that will fit your needs.

Thanks for providing that website. Although it cannot help me in this unit, maybe it will in other units.

Thread 'Confusion regarding a chemical kinetics problem'
TL;DR Summary: cannot find out error in solution proposed. [![question with rate laws][1]][1] Now the rate law for the reaction (i.e reaction rate) can be written as: $$ R= k[N_2O_5] $$ my main question is, WHAT is this reaction equal to? what I mean here is, whether $$k[N_2O_5]= -d[N_2O_5]/dt$$ or is it $$k[N_2O_5]= -1/2 \frac{d}{dt} [N_2O_5] $$ ? The latter seems to be more apt, as the reaction rate must be -1/2 (disappearance rate of N2O5), which adheres to the stoichiometry of the...
