AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around a small book used by a professor to reference constants during a lecture, believed to be published by Lawrence Berkeley. Participants suggest it is likely the Particle Data Book, which is updated every few years and provides current values for various constants. One user mentions they used to receive a new edition biannually. The original poster seeks confirmation and information on how to obtain the book. The Particle Data Book is a valuable resource for accurate scientific constants.

During a lecture yesterday a professor was stuck on trying to remember a value for a constant and pulled a small book out of his shirt pocket and got the right value. I asked what the book was and he couldn't recall the title as his was so old the cover was a smeared mess but he was pretty certain it was a book that Lawrence Berkeley sent out every few years about current values for constants and such. Does anyone know what it is I'm speaking of and where to get one? Thanks!

It's probably the Particle Data Book.

I used to get one every other year.

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
