AI Thread Summary
The discussion revolves around the playful competition among forum members to get the last word before a potential shutdown, with some expressing disdain for trivial comments. There is a suggestion to migrate to another physics forum, specifically mkaku.org, which is noted for its lack of strict moderation and general discussion format. Participants humorously discuss the characteristics of various forums, including banning policies and user activity levels. The conversation also touches on personal anecdotes and light-hearted banter, with references to other forums and a joking critique of their moderation practices. Overall, the thread maintains a light-hearted tone while exploring alternatives to the current forum during downtime.

Okay, see who can get the last word in before shutdown.

Physics news on Phys.org
should we just say last word? or do you need to say something somewhat profound? There's nothing I hate worse than a bunch of dumb threads of people saying. Haha I've got the last word.

Most likely not me - I am not patient enough to post something every 5 seconds.

What the heck else do you have to do?

16 30 BST still here.

oh, that's profound. Say something worth saying or it doesn't count.

$.02

haha, clever. okay I'll let you have the last word with that one

Are there any plans to migrate to another physics forum during the downtime?
http://www.mkaku.org/forums/ might be a good place to visit.
Although they have a "Lounge" area, everything is pretty much general discussion.
There are no rules and the moderators are hardly ever around.

It's kind of like when moonbear goes to the store and we start talking religion.

I think you have me confused with Kurdt.
Didn't he mention in chat that he only bathes once a month?

Hey! They've got a banned list. That's funny.

reasons for banning:
troll and sock puppet of another troll
Sock puppet of banned user
waste of space
racist propoganda
Just another crackpot spammer with a theory of everything. Go away.

May be the PF's server is just an empty shell, PF's is IN the internet, or Greg can not find his screw driver.

I think anyone who deserts PF and goes to another forum over the weekend should be banned.

Britbike is only for the connoisseur of the ultimate in historic machinery, not to be confused with Hardly Davidson fanatics.
