AI Thread Summary
The IC 7660 is being used to generate 12 VDC from a solar panel, but the output voltage matches the input voltage, resulting in 5 V output instead of the desired 12 V. Participants suggest sharing the circuit design to identify potential issues. There is a concern that the IC 7660 may not be suitable for the intended application. Additionally, it is noted that the user should have continued the discussion in the existing thread rather than starting a new one. Proper circuit design and component selection are crucial for achieving the desired voltage output.

hi,everyone
i used ic 7660 to generate 12 VDC by using solar panel...when i used, why do i get the same output just like if the input voltage is 5V,the output will become 5 V too.

Hi there
welcome to PF :)

how about showing us the circuit you used and that way we may be able to see where you may have gone wrong. That chip may not be suitable for what you are trying to achieve

edit ... you should have not made a new thread for this rather you should have posted in the same thread that you already started on this topic

cheers

Thread 'Weird near-field phenomenon I get in my EM simulation'
I recently made a basic simulation of wire antennas and I am not sure if the near field in my simulation is modeled correctly. One of the things that worry me is the fact that sometimes I see in my simulation "movements" in the near field that seems to be faster than the speed of wave propagation I defined (the speed of light in the simulation). Specifically I see "nodes" of low amplitude in the E field that are quickly "emitted" from the antenna and then slow down as they approach the far...
Hello dear reader, a brief introduction: Some 4 years ago someone started developing health related issues, apparently due to exposure to RF & ELF related frequencies and/or fields (Magnetic). This is currently becoming known as EHS. (Electromagnetic hypersensitivity is a claimed sensitivity to electromagnetic fields, to which adverse symptoms are attributed.) She experiences a deep burning sensation throughout her entire body, leaving her in pain and exhausted after a pulse has occurred...
