AI Thread Summary
The HP zv5240us laptop features a Broadcom 54g wireless card, which requires specific configuration for Linux connectivity. Users have mentioned that YaST can potentially be used for configuration, while NdisWrapper may also be necessary for driver support. Although the NdisWrapper compatibility list does not explicitly include this card, it may still function with the appropriate setup. An installation guide for NdisWrapper is available online, which can assist users in the installation process. Additionally, there is a need for a solution to enable and disable the wireless card using the hardware button, similar to its functionality in Windows.

OK, I have an HP zv5240us with a Broadcom 54g wireless card.

This card is needed for me to connect. I have heard that YAST can be used to configure the card and I have also heard that ndiswrapper is needed.

So does anyone have any ideas?

Also, does broadcom support that chipset with linux drivers?

Thanks all!

You might want to try asking http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions, as you're more likely to be able to find someone who can help you . The http://ndiswrapper.sourceforge.net/mediawiki/index.php/List doesn't list your card, but that doesn't mean it won't work. You could try NdisWrapper and see. There's an installation guide in the wiki somewhere and it's pretty good IMO. Not sure about using YaST to configure, as I've never used SuSe.

Now if i could figure out how to use the button to turn on and off the card just like in windows, i would be gold.

Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
