AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the potential link between unusual alcohol consumption and episodes of memory lapses, specifically in a scenario where a non-alcoholic individual experiences forgetfulness after consuming small amounts of red wine over two weeks. Key points include the individual's repeated failures to perform simple tasks, such as applying the car hand brake and remembering to pick up house keys, culminating in a significant six-hour episode of total amnesia. Participants explore whether these memory issues could be attributed to the alcohol intake, emphasizing the need for scientific discussion while refraining from medical diagnoses. The conversation highlights the complexities of alcohol's effects on memory and cognition, suggesting a possible correlation between the consumption patterns and the observed amnesic events.

Cause of event of Global amnesia ??

The senario
the person is normally non- alcoholic;

over a two week period a bottle of red wine is consumed in small amounts

a'memory laps' seems to occur with the individual' forgetting' to apply the car hand brake on three occassions

over another two week period the individual consumes, again in small amounts each day, another bottle of red wine

individual notices lapse of 'memory' in neglecting to pick up house keys on three separate occassions

In this scenario the BIG event then comes where the individual has total amnesia for about 6 hours

In your view could these events be caused by the unusual alcohol intake ?
