AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the inheritance percentage of a disease from a male ancestor, specifically focusing on the likelihood of grandchildren inheriting the condition. Participants express curiosity about the genetic transmission of diseases, with one individual noting their grandfather's diagnosis and inquiring about the chances of their own children or grandchildren being affected. They also seek information on the probability of being a carrier of the disease. The conversation highlights a shared interest in understanding hereditary patterns, particularly in relation to schizophrenia, as indicated by a provided link to research on heredity.

Hi

I can't find the exact answer anywhere. What is the heritance percentage of the disease for children or grandchildren from a male person?
So let's say "granddad" has the disease, what are the chances his grandson will inherit it?

Yes, my grandfather had it, but I am not afraid of the inheritance. I am just interested.
I would also like to know the chances for me being a carrier.

Thanks in advance,

I, too, have an interest in this subject...my great-grandmother very likely had it.
