AI Thread Summary
Instructions for building a simple motor typically involve using wire, batteries, and magnets. Several resources were shared, including links to different motor designs, but the user specified that they cannot use homopolar motors. Concerns were raised about the complexity of some designs and the availability of materials, such as thin wires. It was suggested to use fine sandpaper to remove insulation from wires if needed. Overall, the focus is on finding a straightforward motor-building method suitable for a class project.

so my class is going to build motors tomorrow, and we will have about an hour to build a simple motor, and we are supposed to find instructions for building a motor. Can someone give me instructions for building a simple motor, probably with wire, batteries and magnets, and other materials should be simple ones i should have.

i need simple instructions for a simple motor. i found this one,
http://fly.hiwaay.net/~palmer/motor.html
but if you think it is good, or have simpler or better ones please say so.

well the first one doesn't work for me. i forgot to say, but it can't be a homopolar motor or whatever it means so i can't just do the first one. i already found the first and second but, second needs supplies and first seems to be a little more complicated than the beakmens one

if my teacher has very thin wires will i be able to take off the insulation?

you can use fine sandpaper. Just make sure the wire is stiff enough to support the winding.

Hi all, i have some questions about the tesla turbine: is a tesla turbine more efficient than a steam engine or a stirling engine ? about the discs of the tesla turbine warping because of the high speed rotations; does running the engine on a lower speed solve that or will the discs warp anyway after time ? what is the difference in efficiency between the tesla turbine running at high speed and running it at a lower speed ( as fast as possible but low enough to not warp de discs) and: i...

My water meter is submerged under water for about 95% of the year. Today I took a photograph of the inside of my water meter box because today is one of the rare days that my water meter is not submerged in water. Here is the photograph that I took of my water meter with the cover on: Here is a photograph I took of my water meter with the cover off: I edited the photograph to draw a red circle around a knob on my water meter. Is that knob that I drew a red circle around my meter...
