Chemical reaction with both O2 and CO2 released as products?

AI Thread Summary
Chemical reactions that release both oxygen and carbon dioxide as products include certain combustion reactions and the process of photosynthesis. Oxygen candles, which are used for emergency oxygen supplies, can produce oxygen when burned. When combined with charcoal, these candles can also generate carbon dioxide as a byproduct. Additionally, reactions involving organic matter and oxygen often yield both gases, highlighting the interplay between oxygen and carbon dioxide in various chemical processes.

Is anyone familiar with any chemical reactions that release both oxygen and carbon dioxide gas as products?

Or any reactions where oxygen and carbon dioxide are both reactants?

Thanks.

There are a few reactions that generate oxygen, they are called oxygen candles and are used as emergency oxygen supplies. I suppose one of those + some charcoal would also give you CO2

I want to test a humidity sensor with one or more saturated salt solutions. The table salt that I have on hand contains one of two anticaking agents, calcium silicate or sodium aluminosilicate. Will the presence of either of these additives (or iodine for that matter) significantly affect the equilibrium humidity? I searched and all the how-to-do-it guides did not address this question. One research paper I found reported that at 1.5% w/w calcium silicate increased the deliquescent point by...
