AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on the isolation of restriction endonucleases from specific organisms. It highlights the challenge of determining whether all predicted restriction enzymes in a sequenced genome have been successfully isolated, noting that comprehensive data on this topic is lacking. The consensus suggests that while predictions can be made regarding the types and numbers of restriction enzymes present in a genome, it is improbable that every predicted enzyme has been isolated. This raises questions about the completeness of current knowledge in the field of molecular biology regarding restriction enzymes.

It is hard to tell because no such data exist. We can predict the number and what kind of restriction enzyme are present in a sequenced genome but has every single predicted restriction enzyme have been isolated. I think it is unlikely.
