AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers around the lack of solution manuals for a specific textbook used for exam preparation. The original poster expresses frustration over not being able to verify their answers due to the absence of solutions in the book. They later discover that solutions are likely unavailable, which complicates their study efforts, especially since their professor emphasizes this textbook. Participants suggest finding alternative books with similar exercises that include solutions, specifically mentioning "Quantum Mechanics: Concepts and Applications" by Zettili, which is noted for having many solved problems. The conversation highlights the challenge of studying without access to answer keys and the importance of seeking resources that provide both exercises and solutions.

Hey guys,
I studied with this book now for some weeks. The last few days I solved a lot of exercises to prepare for the exam, but unfortunately I can not check if my answers are correct. There are no solutions in this book. Does anyone know if the solutions are availabe somewhere? This would be very very helpful. Thanks in advance. :-)

Greetings

Edit: Ok I just found other threads and red that the solutions are probably not available...which is bad because my Prof. really sticks to this book. :P I should probably search for a book with similar exercises (e.g. using braket) AND solutions.

Welcome to the PF.

Yes, Instructor Solution Manuals are only sold to instructors (hence the name). The best approach is as you say, to find a similar book that has half of the problem solutions in the back of the book.

The book Quantum Mechanics: Concepts and Applications by Zettili has many many solved problems,

Thank you for the advice ;)

The book is fascinating. If your education includes a typical math degree curriculum, with Lebesgue integration, functional analysis, etc, it teaches QFT with only a passing acquaintance of ordinary QM you would get at HS. However, I would read Lenny Susskind's book on QM first. Purchased a copy straight away, but it will not arrive until the end of December; however, Scribd has a PDF I am now studying. The first part introduces distribution theory (and other related concepts), which...
I've gone through the Standard turbulence textbooks such as Pope's Turbulent Flows and Wilcox' Turbulent modelling for CFD which mostly Covers RANS and the closure models. I want to jump more into DNS but most of the work i've been able to come across is too "practical" and not much explanation of the theory behind it. I wonder if there is a book that takes a theoretical approach to Turbulence starting from the full Navier Stokes Equations and developing from there, instead of jumping from...
