Advice on Transferring Universities for Physics/ME B.S.

AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on a student at CU-Boulder considering a transfer to either the University of Wyoming or the University of Alabama at Huntsville (UAH) for a B.S. in Physics and Mechanical Engineering. Concerns are raised about UAH's reputation, particularly regarding its Physics department, which is described as significantly diminished compared to its past standing. The advice leans toward favoring the University of Wyoming over UAH due to perceived shortcomings in the latter's academic offerings.

I'd stay away from UAH...I went there and it isn't as good a school as they portray. The Physics department is a shell of what it once was.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
