When determining molecular shape, how do you know what the lewis structure shape will be? For example CO_{2} is linear and polar (sp hybridization). But about CS_{2}? Is this also molecularly linear?

Yes,sulphur & oxygen form the same type of compounds with carbon.So the molecules should have the same shape and electronic structure of the covalent bonds...

Kindly see the attached pdf. My attempt to solve it, is in it. I'm wondering if my solution is right. My idea is this: At any point of time, the ball may be assumed to be at an incline which is at an angle of θ(kindly see both the pics in the pdf file).
