Competition for young researchers in the US?

In summary, There are two prominent contests in the US for young researchers, the Intel Science Talent Search and the Siemens Competition (formerly Siemens Westinghouse Competition). These are both science competitions for students up to around 20 years old. There is also the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, as well as many other science fairs. The Intel Science Talent Search is administered by the Society for Science & the Public, and the Siemens Competition is funded by the Siemens Foundation and administered by the College Board. Both of these contests have a long history and are well-known in the scientific community.

There are two prominent contests for young researchers.

The Intel Science Talent Search

The Intel STS is administered by the Society for Science & the Public, which began the competition in 1942 with Westinghouse; for many years, the competition was known as the "Westinghouse Science Talent Search." In 1998, Intel became the sponsor after it outbid Siemens, which had acquired Westinghouse's power generation unit. . . .

Hello there,

Thank you for your interest in scientific research and for reaching out to me. As a scientist myself, I understand the importance of fostering a love for research among young people and providing opportunities for them to showcase their skills and knowledge.

In terms of competitions for young researchers in the US, there are several options available. One of the most well-known is the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, which is open to students from around the world between the ages of 13 and 19. This competition allows students to present their original research projects in various scientific fields and compete for prizes and recognition.

Additionally, there are many local and regional science fairs and competitions held across the country, such as the Google Science Fair and the Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology. These provide a platform for young researchers to showcase their work and potentially win scholarships or other prizes.

I would also recommend reaching out to your local universities and research institutions to inquire about any specific competitions or opportunities they may have for young researchers. Many universities have summer programs or workshops designed for high school students interested in science and research.

I hope this information is helpful to you and I wish you the best of luck in your pursuit of scientific research. Remember, passion and dedication are key in this field, and I have no doubt that you will achieve great things as a young researcher. Keep exploring and never stop learning!
