There are so many dating threads for the young here, I thought, what the hell, I'll do one for the older folk here.

Ok, so I know that there are at least two people here over the age of 40 that are single. Me and Wolram.

And it's going to be a poll. Wolram, you'd better post so I'm not a poll of one.

I'm just curious on a forum full of intelligent, humorous, and nice people, are they all either young or attached?

Once again, a poll with too few options.

I can't choose the first option because I'm male.

I can't choose the second option until my divorce is final.

I can't choose the third option because I do count (I can count to 1,048,575 on my fingers and toes) and I do like to vote in polls.

Ok, I added two new categories.

I requested 10 option slots and it's only giving me 5 and I can edit in more.

edit: Oooh, two more options popped up

40 x 365.25 x 4 ~ 58,000 accidents.

I'm endorsing BobG.

How does one define soon? What scale - intra-annular, or something like decadal, centurial, millenial, or epochal?

You mean hexal? Might be. I would have guessed "the universal sign for smacking someone with a fish", but it could be the sign for hexal.

Besides, who cares? MIH collects calculators. :!)

If it was, I could play, too, except I'm not single and don't hope to be or expect to be. I don't think that I could get married again if my wife died, but if I did, it would have to be to a lady who doesn't mind dirt under her fingernails, loves creative cooking, has a good sense of humor, and has the kindness and empathy to love animals (and me). It would help if she has her own sporting gear, though I no longer need an Evinrude Lightwin 3 outboard as a dowry - got that. A Grumman SportCanoe would be nice, though for the larger ponds.

Did I mention that she could kill me with a single dose of MSG or perfume? The trust level would have to be pretty amazing.

You going to tell us how you voted Evo? I know you can see the results of the other voters. Being a Mentor that is.

Edit: Never mind. I see you are over 40 Evo.

It's an open poll - anyone can see the votes. Click on a vote tally.

OH no. I wonder how many people I've told I voted for them on something have learned that I always vote for myself. Oh wait, I've never told anyone I voted for them.

Is there a little of bias in Evo's fish slaps?

I noticed dlgoff had to know how Evo voted before he decided how old he was. Surely he should have to at least cite a valid reference before we take his age at face value.

I have a hard time believing http://i.eonline.com/Entire_Site/20080430/300.cyrus.miley.043008.jpg is over 40, too. That has to be some great make up - aside from being kind of itchy.

None the less, if she wants to claim she's forty-two, then we can invite her for tea, too.

Will you ask her to sing Schwimmer's "drag" song?

"I am Bea. I love tea. Won't you come and dance with me?"

Practice up, Cy. Maybe it will end up on YouTube.

I remember 25 fondly. I was playing bass in a rock 'n' roll band and Bill Clinton was moving into the White House.

Good times. Good times.

Thanks for thinking I am a young whippersnapper, Evo.

Evo is younger than me and Astronuc, and she is older than MIH and Moonbear. If you want to tighten this up, you'll have to pay.

I'm mature for my age, although I try not to be. Evo and I are close, but I age faster.
