AI Thread Summary
A student is seeking difficult practice questions for a Grade 12 unit test on Gravitational and Electric Fields, specifically focusing on gravitational force, gravitational field strength, orbits, Coulomb's law, and electric field strength in both 1D and 2D. They express regret for not searching for questions earlier and have already completed their notes and homework. Other participants suggest that earlier posting could have garnered more responses while wishing the student good luck. The discussion highlights the importance of timely preparation for tests. Engaging with peers for additional resources can enhance understanding of complex physics concepts.

Hey all, I have a unit test tomorrow on Gravitational and Electric Fields. If you have any good practice questions for Grade 12 University level please leave them below! :)

In my class we've learned gravitational force, gravitational field strength and orbits (omit geosynchronous) as well as Coulomb's law and electric-static force and electric field strength.

I am looking for difficult questions in 1D and 2D! Thank You!

I think it might have been a good idea to look for appropriate questions a bit sooner than the night before the quiz.

i went through all my notes and did all the homework questions so I'm just looking for something else to do

OK, that's very good. Just saying, you might have gotten more response if you had posted earlier but I understand your situation. Good luck.

TL;DR Summary: I came across this question from a Sri Lankan A-level textbook. Question - An ice cube with a length of 10 cm is immersed in water at 0 °C. An observer observes the ice cube from the water, and it seems to be 7.75 cm long. If the refractive index of water is 4/3, find the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. I could not understand how the apparent height of the ice cube in the water depends on the height of the ice cube immersed in the water. Does anyone have an...
Thread 'Variable mass system : water sprayed into a moving container'
Starting with the mass considerations #m(t)# is mass of water #M_{c}# mass of container and #M(t)# mass of total system $$M(t) = M_{C} + m(t)$$ $$\Rightarrow \frac{dM(t)}{dt} = \frac{dm(t)}{dt}$$ $$P_i = Mv + u \, dm$$ $$P_f = (M + dm)(v + dv)$$ $$\Delta P = M \, dv + (v - u) \, dm$$ $$F = \frac{dP}{dt} = M \frac{dv}{dt} + (v - u) \frac{dm}{dt}$$ $$F = u \frac{dm}{dt} = \rho A u^2$$ from conservation of momentum , the cannon recoils with the same force which it applies. $$\quad \frac{dm}{dt}...
