Help for Extended Essay related to Fluids Viscosity

AI Thread Summary
Tsering is conducting a physics extended essay focused on how the cross-sectional area of a cylinder affects its rate of slowing down when dropped into water. The essay will also explore the viscosity index of water. Guidance is requested due to difficulties in approaching a physics teacher for assistance. Forum members suggest that Tsering should clarify specific questions for more targeted help. General resources on fluid dynamics and viscosity are recommended for foundational understanding.

Hi,
I am Tsering and am studying in the Mahindra UWC of India. I am doing a physics extended essay on How the cross section area of an object(cylinder) will affect the rate of slowing down of the object when dropped from a certain height into a fluid (water in my case). I will try to find the viscosity index of water and some other things as well. Can you please guide me through this things as I am not able to approach my physics teacher.
Thanks a lot.
Tsering

I think it's easist first to watch a short vidio clip I find these videos very relaxing to watch .. I got to thinking is this being done in the most efficient way? The sand has to be suspended in the water to move it to the outlet ... The faster the water , the more turbulance and the sand stays suspended, so it seems to me the rule of thumb is the hose be aimed towards the outlet at all times .. Many times the workers hit the sand directly which will greatly reduce the water...
