Discussion Overview

The discussion revolves around the design of a humidifier system for a submersible, specifically addressing the issue of moisture accumulation on transparent surfaces due to human body heat in a cold underwater environment.

Discussion Character

  • Exploratory, Technical explanation, Debate/contested

Main Points Raised

  • One participant expresses a need for a humidifier system in a submersible, seeking solutions.
  • Another participant questions the need for increased humidity, asking for clarification on the purpose.
  • A participant explains that the problem arises from condensation on glass due to low temperatures at depths of about 100 meters, suggesting that a humidity control system is necessary to prevent fogging.
  • Another participant suggests that a dehumidifier might be a more appropriate solution and questions the necessity of a custom design when commercial options are available.

Areas of Agreement / Disagreement

Participants have differing views on whether a humidifier or dehumidifier is needed, indicating a lack of consensus on the appropriate approach to address the moisture issue in the submersible.

Contextual Notes

There are unresolved assumptions regarding the specific conditions within the submersible and the effectiveness of existing commercial solutions versus a custom-designed system.

You want it wetter in a submersible? Please explain.

Yes..When the submersible submerse in water about 100meter deep, the temperature is low and the heat released by the human body will make the moisture or fog appearance on the transparent glass in the submersible. In order to avoid the moisture or fog appearance, a simple humidity system design is required. Will more appreciate with the help of schematic diagram of the system. Thank you don.
