AI Thread Summary
German cities are addressing the issue of pedestrians distracted by smartphones by embedding traffic signals into the pavement at crosswalks. This initiative aims to enhance safety for those who are often looking down at their devices while walking. The trend reflects a growing concern over smartphone addiction, with some suggesting that future solutions may include advanced technology like brain implants to mitigate distractions. The discussion highlights a broader societal debate on the extent to which accommodations for smartphone users are becoming excessive, raising questions about pedestrian behavior and road safety.

And they sure don't go back on. So, in the absence of a longer-term solution that might involve a replacement, is there any way I can activate the power button, like with a paperclip or wire or something? It looks...
