AI Thread Summary
A hybrid engine controller regulates power by managing inputs and outputs from various components, including the engine and electric motor. It typically integrates functions like throttle control, which can be adjusted using a potentiometer for DC motors. The controller is responsible for power distribution between the engine and motor, rather than relying on a separate system. Calculating engine mileage involves monitoring fuel consumption and distance traveled, which can be influenced by the controller's settings. Providing more details about the specific components used in the hybrid project could yield more tailored advice.

I'm working on a hybrid engine project but its hard to find any info on the controller... does anyone know what are the common inputs/outputs and does the conroller itself regulate the power source (engine/motor) or is there a separate system to do this?

Another thing what is the best way to calculate engine mileage?.

When you mention controller, are you reffering to the power supply, or something that would effectively be your gas pedal?

If your using a dc motor, the power supply should be rather simple, and you can use something like a potentiometer (spelling?) to throttle the motor.

Perhaps a bit more info on the components your using?
