How far will a car travel before coming to rest?

In summary, kinematics is the branch of physics that studies the motion of objects without considering the causes of their motion. It differs from dynamics, which focuses on the causes of motion. The three main types of kinematic equations are for constant acceleration, projectile motion, and circular motion. To solve problems using kinematic equations, one must identify known and unknown variables and choose the appropriate equation based on the type of motion. Kinematics has many real-life applications, including designing vehicles and amusement park rides, predicting ball trajectories in sports, and analyzing planetary and satellite motion in space.

A car is decelerating uniformly. Its velocity changes from 30m/s to 15m/s in 75m. How much further will it travel before it comes to rest?

- Please, i need a detail answer. Thanks!

That's the one you need. Apply it twice: once to find the acceleration and again to find the final distance.

What is kinematics?

Kinematics is the branch of physics that studies the motion of objects without considering the causes of their motion.

What is the difference between kinematics and dynamics?

Kinematics focuses on the description of motion, while dynamics focuses on the causes of motion.

What are the three main types of kinematic equations?

The three main types of kinematic equations are the equations for constant acceleration, the equations for projectile motion, and the equations for circular motion.

How do we use kinematic equations to solve problems?

To solve problems using kinematic equations, we first identify the known and unknown variables, then choose the appropriate equation based on the type of motion. We then plug in the known values and solve for the unknown variable.

What are some real-life applications of kinematics?

Kinematics has many real-life applications, such as designing vehicles and amusement park rides, predicting the trajectory of a ball in sports, and analyzing the motion of planets and satellites in space.
