Need Help Building a Rotating Wood Platform for Adults? Let's Discuss Solutions!

AI Thread Summary
A rotating wood platform for adults is being designed to turn both clockwise and counter-clockwise, powered by a remotely operated electric motor. The platform must support adult weight and achieve a reasonable rotation speed without requiring elaborate features. The creator seeks advice on suitable mechanical parts and construction ideas, emphasizing budget considerations and available resources. Participants are encouraged to share their suggestions and experiences related to similar projects. Constructing a functional and safe rotating platform is the primary goal of the discussion.

I am trying to construct a wood platform that rotates both clockwise and counter - clockwise. It needs to be able to hold an adult and be propelled by an electric motor that can be operated from a short distance from the platform. It doesn't need to be fancy, I just need it to rotate people at a decent speed. I have some basic ideas about the construction, but don't know what mechanical parts to use. Please help me figure this out.

Hi all, I have a question. So from the derivation of the Isentropic process relationship PV^gamma = constant, there is a step dW = PdV, which can only be said for quasi-equilibrium (or reversible) processes. As such I believe PV^gamma = constant (and the family of equations) should not be applicable to just adiabatic processes? Ie, it should be applicable only for adiabatic + reversible = isentropic processes? However, I've seen couple of online notes/books, and...
I have an engine that uses a dry sump oiling system. The oil collection pan has three AN fittings to use for scavenging. Two of the fittings are approximately on the same level, the third is about 1/2 to 3/4 inch higher than the other two. The system ran for years with no problem using a three stage pump (one pressure and two scavenge stages). The two scavenge stages were connected at times to any two of the three AN fittings on the tank. Recently I tried an upgrade to a four stage pump...
