I've been trying for a while now. I don't know how to relate \phi with the distance rolled down the plane. Could really use some help if you know anything that would help. Thanks
 


If the cylinder rotates by an angle \phi, how much does the outer edge of the cylinder move?

\phi = \phi(0) + w(0)*t +(1/2 alpha*time-squared)?
 


No. I'm asking for a linear distance (something you would measure in meters).

Yep, that's it. Now how does that distance s relate to the distance the cylinder rolled along the surface?
