New Haircut: Do I Look Like a Different Person Now?

In summary, Enigma got a haircut after carrying around his ponytail for 10 years and donated it to Locks of Love. He wanted a Goran Visnjic haircut but didn't have enough hair, so he settled for a shorter, more clean-cut look. Some people liked his long hair better, but overall he received positive feedback.

I got a haircut.

And unlike the haircuts that I've had three or four times a year for the last decade, I got them all cut.

The ponytail went first. 20 seconds with some scissors took off 10 years of history. I've been carrying it around in a ziploc bag like it's my kidney for the last hour. Luckily, I had 10", so I can donate it to Locks of Love. Hopefully some child with cancer will like it as much as I have.

I wanted to go with a haircut like Goran Visnjic has, but unfortunately because of the undercuts and the donation, I didn't have enough to work with.

So, here we go. Make sure the children have left the room.

It's that bad, huh? :frown:

I'd rather say "was" instead of "is"
(Not that it was that bad before, either, but your new look is definitely an improvement!)

Holy cow!

What did you do to that other guy? where did you hide the body?

Wow.

Va va voom! Wow! Sexy! I've always preferred the short-haired, clean-cut look. You look like a totally different person (in a good way)! :approve:

First of all Enigma, good job donating to Locks of Love. Worthwhile cause. My wife has done that also.

I think you look good with the shorter hair.

New haircut looks much better.

I agree that the new haircut looks better.

Oooh, Enigma, you look great! :!) :!)

That's so nice of you to donate your hair, I don't think enough people are aware they can do that and it's such a good cause.

You should start smoking. If you hurry and get cancer maybe you can get your hair back. 10 years of your life, you hair's been with you through every moment. Now it's all gone. Sad isn't it. lol just messing with you.

ps is your last name Barnum or Bailey? What's with the circus tent walls?

That's okay Gokul, I still have flowing hair like that, and even thicker! I don't like guys to have longer hair than I have.

My condolensces!

Is this one of those - "it's time to get a job, so I better look the part?". You're too young for a mid-life crisis.

I had relatively long hair a few years ago, just above my shoulders. A senior manager at one of my company's major clients of expressed dissatisfaction. One of the managers in my company then hinted that it would very nice if I got a haircut. I agreed - no big deal.

Fortunately, he didn't ask me to shave.

The beard (this generation) is almost 24 yrs old. It gets an occassional trim and a shampoo every day.

do you ever hang your head upside down over the side of the bed and put sunglasses on your chin and pretend you are Don King?

Actually, no. This was a "I've had the same damn haircut since I was 17" situations.
I broke up with the girlfriend who liked the long hair.
I haven't really liked it much (not that I like this one much better) for the past year or four.
I finally got it to a 10" ponytail (usually have it about 2" shorter) so I could donate it.
I needed a haircut.
My friend (whose house has the Barnum & Baileys walls, Trib) wasn't going to let me weasel out of it.

Now, let's hope that the chicks will swoon and throw themselves at me. :yuck:

I'm sure at least a few will throw up and swoon when they see you.
Is your friend a clown? Never take hair style advise from a clown.

So, no different than before, huh? Disheartening.

What'cha got against clowns? Are you a clownophobe? They are people, too you know. They have feelings. :frown:

Do you mind if I throw myself at you before I swoon? That way you can catch me...I really hate swooning and coming too with a big lump on my head. I can include some oatmeal raisin cookies in my next baking adventure. (We should just wait until tribdog isn't looking.)

I guess Tribdog is worried about competition.

It seems the PF Sisterhood approve. Evo gave you a double :!)

I tried a ponytail, but my hair is so dense it just didn't work. So I usually wore a bandana tied around it.

Well give it a few months to grow out.

The out of bed look is easy to maintain with some gel/wax: just mold the hair in different directions and you're set

btw it must be weird without the long hair right?
I recently had a 12 inches cut off my hair, now it's still to my waist but it feels really short

Congratulations man!

I don't know who are those guys of the portraits, but under the assumption they are family of yours, I think you have experimented some pressure of them in order to get your hair cut. Military thinkings are don't match with your previous head... :tongue2:

I hope the hairdresser didn't need a saw...

It's so wierd. I'm finding out a bunch about my little nervous tics.

Apparantly, about two or three times an hour I used to reach for my brush to brush out my hair.

At least once an hour, I used to reach back to re-do the polytail.

Probably why I used to always have split ends.

Oh, and this morning in the shower, I splotched entirely too much shampoo on my hand. At least I'll save money on that, considering I'll be spending two to three times as much on haircuts.

And it was my friend's house where the pictures were taken. You can even (barely) see his wedding photo in the back right. The pictures are of my friend's wife's brothers, neither of which I've met for more than 3 minutes.

The hair on the back of my head has never, that I can remember, reached the neckline of a non-collared shirt.

That's because you're a Republican engineer. It's part of the dress code. I've seen the memo. :tongue2:  It's okay, one of my best friends is a Republican ex-engineer, so even though I give you a hard time about it, it's all in fun.

Nah, I have split ends and only brush my hair twice a day. Don't know if the ponytail has anything to do with it. I've always had long hair, my whole life. I can't imagine it suddenly being gone. Seems weird. But I bet you are now done in the shower in record time! I know it takes me forever to rinse shampoo out of my hair, and then there's conditioner, which you can't live without if you have long hair.

I'm going to have to take a picture of my hair flipped over like in your before pictures and show you had frighteningly similar it looks. Then you'll feel really glad you got a masculine haircut now.

Not having a haircut in years would explain the dead ends

I once was sitting at the end of the bed where my bf was sleeping in, after we had watched the movie The Ring. He woke up and startled, thinking he saw Sadako (http://www.geocities.com/eigakai/sadako.jpg)
