No Picture on the CRT Television

In summary, CRT televisions may experience a loss of picture due to issues with the power supply, connection, or internal components. These issues can sometimes be resolved by unplugging the TV, checking connections, or seeking professional repair. Faulty cables can also cause picture issues. It is possible to have sound but no picture on a CRT television, and the lifespan of these TVs can vary but can last up to 10 years on average.

All of a sudden the picture on my Panasonic CRT television disappeared, but the sound remained. The most common cause of the picture disappearing is a faulty tube and the warning sign of this can be seen for some while.

So it can't be the tube. There was a funny burning type smell from the back of the set. Something must have been overheating. Any explanations, please?
