Engineering Is there a significant difference in salary between physicists and engineers?

AI Thread Summary
In the discussion, participants explore the salary comparison between physicists and engineers in the US, Australia, and the UK. While some suggest that salaries are similar, others argue that individual circumstances, such as job roles and responsibilities, significantly influence earnings. The conversation highlights that generalizations about salary differences can be misleading, as they often overlook the complexities of individual career paths and job positions. Overall, the consensus indicates that while there may be trends, personal experiences and job specifics play a crucial role in determining salary levels for both professions.

True for some individuals, not so true for others. Like most generalizations it kind of falls apart when you look at individual cases.
