AI Thread Summary
A sixteen-year-old student in the Netherlands is seeking guidance on choosing a study path focused on physics and science. With a strong interest in physics, inspired by figures like Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein, the student is unsure about future career options and the educational package to select, given the unique Dutch school system. They possess talents in mathematics, logical thinking, and spatial awareness, attributed to their Asperger's condition. The student is looking for job recommendations in physics or science and is eager to connect with professionals in the field for insights and mentorship. Suggestions include shadowing physicists or engineers to gain practical experience and understanding of potential career paths.

Good evening everyone,

I have a great interest in physics, am sixteen years old, and totally stuck in what I should choose to study when I'm done with school.

I live in the netherlands, we have a very different school system then other countries, but basically, I will have to choose a "package" of things to learn, math english and dutch are basic, but all the rest is decided by me. I don't know what job I want to look forward to either, I'm just in general very interested in physics and science in general. I love stephen hawkings' documentaries, I get fascinated by them, and by einstein's theory of relativity, I am interested in CERN (even though I don't know a lot about them, been checking it out lately)

I don't know which path to choose. I have autism (asperger, in perticulair) and after countless of tests it says that my talents are Mathematics, Logical thinking and spatial awareness. I love math so that comes in handy.

Does anyone know a good place to find job, or a job that would suit me after reading this?
Does anyone have a job in physics/science or studies it, and would be able to answer questions of mine and help me with this?

I'd greatly appreciate it, it would love to learn and understand more about these things.

Thank you for your time!

I don't know much about science in the Netherlands (other than they have AMOLF), but I highly suggest shadowing physicists or engineers to find out what it's like to work in their field.

Hey, I am Andreas from Germany. I am currently 35 years old and I want to relearn math and physics. This is not one of these regular questions when it comes to this matter. So... I am very realistic about it. I know that there are severe contraints when it comes to selfstudy compared to a regular school and/or university (structure, peers, teachers, learning groups, tests, access to papers and so on) . I will never get a job in this field and I will never be taken serious by "real"...
Yesterday, 9/5/2025, when I was surfing, I found an article The Schwarzschild solution contains three problems, which can be easily solved - Journal of King Saud University - Science ABUNDANCE ESTIMATION IN AN ARID ENVIRONMENT https://jksus.org/the-schwarzschild-solution-contains-three-problems-which-can-be-easily-solved/ that has the derivation of a line element as a corrected version of the Schwarzschild solution to Einstein’s field equation.
