Solving Telephone Line Dial Tone Problem

AI Thread Summary
The issue involves a telephone line that consistently loses connectivity every morning when office equipment, such as computers or printers, is powered on. The line is used for both a DSL modem and a fax machine. When only a telephone is connected, there is often no dial tone, necessitating repeated reconnections to restore service. Internal and main board cables have been checked and found to be functioning properly. Once the line is operational, it works without issues throughout the day, but the problem recurs each morning. Additionally, calls to the fax number ring without a clear destination. The recommended initial step is to contact the DSL provider for technical support, as they typically offer 24/7 assistance. There is also a suggestion to review an existing thread for further insights into the problem.

The first thing to do is call the company that you get your DSL from, they would be the people to help you. They should have free tech support. MY DSL provider offers 24/7 free tech support.

There is already a thread on this problem, you can take a look at it for suggestions.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Thread 'ChatGPT Examples, Good and Bad'
I've been experimenting with ChatGPT. Some results are good, some very very bad. I think examples can help expose the properties of this AI. Maybe you can post some of your favorite examples and tell us what they reveal about the properties of this AI. (I had problems with copy/paste of text and formatting, so I'm posting my examples as screen shots. That is a promising start. But then I provided values V=1, R1=1, R2=2, R3=3 and asked for the value of I. At first, it said...
