AI Thread Summary
The discussion centers on understanding how to solve per unit questions related to transformer circuits. Participants express confusion about converting values into per unit and creating a per phase equivalent circuit. Clarification is sought on the initial steps and the calculation for bus1. The concept of per unit involves normalizing component values, while per phase focuses on one phase of the power lines. Guidance on these topics is requested to facilitate problem-solving.

1. attached is the question i am trying to solve.

I do not know how to do per unit questions.

2. Part a) of the question ask to convert into per unit and then per phase equivalent circuit. I do not understand how to do it. Please guide.

Also, how to calculate the bus1?

3. I cannot attempt because I do not know how to... what etc the first step etc

Hi Pingpong
does the book (or lecturer) provide you with an equivalent circuit model?

if i remember rightly, per unit means all the component values normalised, and per phase means only consider one phase of the power lines. its been a while since i studied that.
