AI Thread Summary
The downloader tool from heidoc.net currently cannot generate download links for Windows 7 and Office 2007 and 2010. This limitation is acknowledged in official communications, indicating that efforts are underway to restore some options for these older systems in future updates. The downloader functions by providing links to genuine Microsoft products, but users must possess a valid product key for activation. Microsoft does not offer direct download links for older software, making heidoc.net a viable alternative for obtaining installation media. Additionally, heidoc.net is recognized on Microsoft's official forums, suggesting its legitimacy as a resource for downloading Microsoft products.

"The downloader can't currently generate links for Windows 7, as well as Office 2007 and 2010."

Above is confusing to me because I don't know how such things work. The downloader is a program which is downloaded from here. How does it works? How can the program generate the links? www.heidoc.net is offered in MS official forums.

Thank you.

Maybe there’s no product download for that specific platform.

Yes, but I was wondering also about how that program, the downloader, works. Do anyone know how such link generator programs works? For example how do they generate links? Do they have a relation with Microsoft's websites?

Thank you.

As I see, you're talking about this

"Important: The downloader can't currently generate links for Windows 7, as well as Office 2007 and 2010. We're trying to bring back some limited options for these systems with the next release. If you have further questions about this issue, please use the WinCert Forum to get in touch, so that other users can also benefit from the discussion, and we don't have to answer the same kind of questions by email dozens of times..."

As the site claims - I really don't know about it if it is legitimate or not, it offers this tool in order to download some genuine Microsoft products. Now, this message above clearly says that there are no links to download the things that mentions using the downloader.

With a little googling you'll easily see that heidoc.net provides the links but you must have already a product key in order to do the activation. So, it is essentially a way to download if you don't have the media for the product. Microsoft doesn't provide links for download for older products so this is a way to download. Also, you can go to official Microsoft website and put "heidoc.net" in the search box. It gives links to heidoc.net.

In my discussions elsewhere, I've noticed a lot of disagreement regarding AI. A question that comes up is, "Is AI hype?" Unfortunately, when this question is asked, the one asking, as far as I can tell, may mean one of three things which can lead to lots of confusion. I'll list them out now for clarity. 1. Can AI do everything a human can do and how close are we to that? 2. Are corporations and governments using the promise of AI to gain more power for themselves? 3. Are AI and transhumans...
Sorry if 'Profile Badge' is not the correct term. I have an MS 365 subscription and I've noticed on my Word documents the small circle with my initials in it is sometimes different in colour document to document (it's the circle at the top right of the doc, that, when you hover over it it tells you you're signed in; if you click on it you get a bit more info). Last night I had four docs with a red circle, one with blue. When I closed the blue and opened it again it was red. Today I have 3...
